The National Weather Service says at least seven tornadoes touched down in North Texas on Sunday, including one in Parker County, one in Eastland County, five in Palo Pinto County where an EF-1 that hit near Gordon.
Texas Sky Ranger flew over Gordon Monday morning and found catastrophic damage to homes and Gordon ISD athletic facilities. The Gordon ISD said on Monday that it will remain closed for the week.

Another EF-1 packing maximum wind speeds of 110 mph briefly touched down north-northeast of Mingus in Parker County. NWS teams found significant tree damage, with very large pecan trees that were either uprooted or had their trunks snapped. Sheet metal was also ripped from a metal shed on private property.

SIGN UP NWS storm survey teams confirmed five other tornadoes, including an EF-0 north of Lipan (Parker County) EF-0 near Morton Valley (Eastland County), an EF-0 in Santo (Palo Pinto County), an EF-0 south of Santo (Palo Pinto County), and an EF-U southeast of Santo (Palo Pinto County).
EF-U stands for "unknown" and is used when a tornado is of undetermined strength. The NWS said tornadoes may be rated EF-U when they know a tornado occurred due to video or radar, but the survey area is inaccessible to survey teams. Drone footage or satellite imagery may be used to eventually rate the tornado.
County officials said four people injured in the tornado have been treated and released from the hospital.
NWS survey teams are still in the area, and damage locations and storm tracks are still being assessed.
Sunday's five tornadoes increase the seasonal total in North Texas to 28.
