At 9:53 a.m., the NWS extended a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Bosque and Hill counties to include Dallas, Ellis, Johnson, Somervell, and Tarrant counties until 4 p.m. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Comanche, Hamilton, Mills, Eastland, Erath, Hood, Palo Pinto, Parker, and Stephens counties was allowed to expire at 10 a.m.

Heavy downpours are likely, especially in the morning. Midday rain and thunderstorms will last into the early afternoon before tapering off by mid to late afternoon. Although some storms could produce small hail and gusty winds, the main concern is flooding.

This afternoon's severe weather risk is from DFW to the southeast. Hail, high winds, and a tornado are possible (especially farther southeast).

Flood Watch is in effect today with the potential for 1 to 3 inches of rain. Some isolated 4-5" totals are possible. Stay alert and turn around if you encounter flooded roads.

On Wednesday, the day may start with some fog or drizzle, but overall, the rain chance will be much lower with afternoon sunshine returning. As our upper-low slowly moves away, low rain chances will be possible into Friday. The weekend weather is looking sunny and dry.

A storm system will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the area into Tuesday. Some storms could produce damaging winds and large hail.
