One person was killed and at least two dozen others were hurt Sunday morning following a fiery crash involving a bus in the greater Los Angeles area.
The crash was reported shortly after 5 a.m. on the westbound 60 Freeway just east of Hacienda Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. For reasons still under investigation, the bus slammed into the rear of a Nissan SUV.

WATCH HEREAs a result of the crash, the SUV was fully engulfed in flames. The flames did not spread to the bus.
The driver of the Nissan became trapped in the vehicle and died of their injuries. Officials did not release the name of the deceased.

SIGN UP The impact of the crash was so powerful that dozens on board the bus suffered multiple injuries, all ranging in severity.
"As a result of the collision, we did have 32 occupants transported to local hospitals, two of which were in critical condition," said CHP Officer Zacharay Salazar.
The bus was carrying 63 people who were headed to Koreatown following a casino trip in the Coachella Valley.

Traffic investigators say it’s still unclear, at the moment, what caused the accident and whether it was mechanical failure or human error.
"Our officers who are conducting the investigation did speak with the passengers, obtaining statements and gathering information to try to ascertain what exactly took place prior to and leading up to this collision," said Salazar.
