According to Dallas police, officers responded to a shooting call in the 3100 block of Spruce Valley Lane shortly after 2 a.m.

Family has identified the victim as 31-year-old Gabriel Alejandro Golindano Alvarez of Monagas al Oriente, Venezuela.

She said she awoke to a volley of gunfire early in the morning and tried to wake Alvarez, who was lying next to her.

According to the family, Alvarez worked at a local bakery. He played soccer and the couple was always together.
Ceballos says they never interacted with their downstairs neighbors, who seemed to have frequent visitors.
