Moody hails from North Carolina, graduating from North Carolina A&T State University. While in college, he interned with PBS & UNC-TV, Good Morning America, FOX8 WGHP and WRAL.
Moody’s career began at WNCT in Eastern North Carolina where he wrote and shot stories, produced newscasts and filled in as a news and sports anchor. The Radio and Television News Directors Association recognized his work as a reporter and producer on stories including The African American Music Trails of Eastern North Carolina and the 2018 election.
