In 2017, she was part of a team at WRAL-TV that received the National Association of Broadcasters Service to Community Award for the documentary "Black and Blue," which explored the relationship between local law enforcement and black communities.
Candace earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a graduate degree from Florida State University.
